We are also able to offer private tuition, providing bespoke tutoring for all abilities, ages and ambitions. Whether you are a complete beginner learning to sail or an experienced racer looking for elite coaching our highly experienced instructors and coaches are able to provide a training program to suit you.

This can be done in either our club boats or in your own and can be arranged with much more flexibility that the RYA Courses.

We are able to complete the RYA courses through Private Tuition if you would like to work towards the RYA certificates at your own convenience. 

Teaching ratios and prices will vary depending on what you are looking for. Days and packages build around your own availability and time frame.  Please email the office with your enquiry or ask for a member of the team to get back to you to discuss what you are looking for.

Some examples of what we can offer include:

Complete Beginner Personalised Tuition - Single Handed Dinghies, Double Handed Dinghies, Catamarans, Keelboats, or even your own boat. Take your pick! For Adults or Children, maybe both? 

Confidence Building Sessions - Had a break from Sailing? Recently learnt but not ready to go on your own? Spend some time practicing specific skills or developing any of your own limitations.

Specific Targets and Aims - Have a specific objective? Want to learn how to trapeze or use a spinnaker effectively? Working towards an instructor certificate and want some practical guidance? We have specialised equipment and instructor expertise to teach almost all Dinghy skills.

Personalised Race Coaching - New to club racing or an experienced circuit veteran, if you are keen to go faster around the racecourse we can provide coaching on a wide range of racing skills. From increasing boat speed to starts, strategies to boat on boat tactics our experienced racing instructors and coaches will help you identify areas for improvement and support you working towards achieving your goals.

Yachting/Cruising/Flotillas - Unfortunately we are limited in the size of boat we can use, and cannot deliver the RYA Day Skipper Practical as an inland venue. What we can do is introduce and develop the skills and techniques that are needed. Using both Dinghies and larger Keelboats as required, our Keelboat instructors will teach you all the skills you might need to successfully manoeuvre a boat as required. Some of the manoeuvres we would practice include recovering a man-overboard, coming alongside other vessels or a pontoon, picking up moorings and anchoring.

Own Boat Tuition - If you have bought a new boat and would like someone to help you setting it up, or simply someone to come on the water with you for the first time we are very happy to help. Equally if you are ready to begin using a spinnaker, set up the trapeze, or just want to push yourself to the limit and get the most of your boat, we would love to help you to succeed.
